Trail Operations is pleased to continue the Summer Student Program by offering students the opportunity to work providing vacation relief. The majority of the available positions will be operating and labour jobs in the plants. Where possible, opportunities will be matched to the student’s educational studies and prior work experience.
Short-listed students must participate in an on-site selection process which includes medical clearance, fitness testing and an interview. The on-site selection process will take place in February.
Although preference will be given to qualified students entering the final years of their post‑secondary program (minimum two-year program) and to students who have not participated in the summer student program in previous years, resumes will be accepted from all post-secondary students. Whether or not a first, second or third-year student would be short-listed would depend on the number of applications we receive from qualified students entering their final year of study. The same holds true for students who have participated in the summer student program previously.
Students who do not include the following information in their cover letter will not be considered:
- name of current university or college and current area(s) of study;
- start date and end date student is available to work;
- year of the program they will be entering in September;
- expected graduation date (month/year);
- contact information while at university including e-mail address, mailing address and phone number; and,
- how student became aware of this posting.
Interested students are requested to forward a covering letter, an up-to-date resume and an unofficial copy of his/her most recent transcripts by Friday, January 22, 2016 to hrstudent@teck.com.
Applications received after 3 pm on January 22, 2016 will be placed on a wait list.
